Survivors

As I remember exactly two years back my dear comrade ALAYA (a.k.a. Asela) , wanted me to come to the university since they were digging holes to plant trees. That evening I could not attend that event. But next day I managed to attend the “Tree Planting Ceremony”, which was launched with the best wishes from the staff members.

The whole gathering was planting trees, and the plants were kept near the New Building. So we had to borrow the garbage cart to transport plants to the respective holes. We had an enjoyable time pushing the cart. One group was planting while

the others were watering and a considerable amount of plants were planted.

But after that day, these plants were on their own, striving to survive. These

plants had to undergo many hardships like lack of water, the blinding glare of the sun, and the Grass cutters carelessness and his poor grass cutting skills. However some of them survived.

So we thought, you folks would be interested in observing the progress and the growth of the survivors.

I make this an opportunity to thank all the passed out Nature Team Akkas & Ayyas for what they have done to make these trees what they are now.

If you happen to come to the university in 10, 15 years, you would proudly gawk at a survivor and say, “Hey I was there when you were planted

Well done Molli malli. I make this time to congratulate the progress chived since its birth few years back. I am happy that I was able to be with the nTeam from that time.
I can recall the night we planted trees. We were digging holes all over the university :) Man such digging like rats.... Its there I came cross most of the young ppl like Alaya and Molli.

I was very sad now that I couldn't make it to the tree planting ceremony.

I do not agree that since the plants these plants were on their own. We did took some care but was sad that we couldn't done it proper way.

Proving the nature of mother nature the survivors are reaching skies today. :)

Needless to say bout the huge efforts by Kuru, HonyB, Alaya, Molli and lot of nature lovers for bringing the Nteam to this heights. (Hats off guys)

Sure Ill be very proud and happy to see those plants grow day by day, thinking "I was there when we dig holes for you"

Bravo!!!
Great to see a blog for the nature team.
Keep it going.

Well done machan. This is a great work. What nteam gives to the university and what university gains from nteam is to be highlighted like this.

May we hear some things on how to really get things done. How many trees do we really have in the campus? May we quantify ?!

U are correct. I think there should be a proper report on every project we do in nTeam. I am not sure whether there are any reports on this tree plantation project. If there are it Kurulla, Ezzan or Wnni might know.
If somebody make a count on the trees we planted and categorize them in a report, it would be very valuable in the future.
Cheers....

Hi guys,
I simply don't understand the format of this blog. Cant we start a new topic under Nature team?

As I see now nature team is also a profile right? can't we turn this in to a forum? So that new topics can be started and so the pass out guys can contribute comments to the present members?

NEED EXPLANATION SOON

HoneyB,
This is a blog. Only the owners (Person/people who has the password to the blog) can start a new topic here. Others can only add comments to the Topic. Even to post a topic u have to use a login.
In the case of blogSpot it has to be either google login or Some open Ids. (These are listed below the area where u type your comments). Blogs are made to post personnel expressions, with comments from general public. Even here general public can ask questions and anyone can answer. But its bit informal.

Ex: http://defencenet.blogspot.com/

Whereas a forum is a place general discussions are undergoing. Any member of the forum can start a topic so that others can carry on the conversation with their ideas/explanations. The discussions can be carried out in formal manner.

Ex: http://www.photoshoptechniques.com/forum/

So for the current scenario I would suggest that the nTeam board members(or appointed committee) would share the password of this blog so that only they could post the news and articles related Nature Team. (This should happen only the board is willing to make this blog the official blog of the Nature team of the University of Moratuwa.). Then this would be more like a news board for the society where others can post their comments on the articles being put on.

If there is a need for a forum for the nteam it is better to star a proper forum as in my previous example. But at the moment I don't think we should start a forum for the society at the moment as we are having some issues with the web site as well. So for the time being lets proceed with this blog as a forum.

Hope I answered ur q.

Hi Guys, I think if blog owners want they can invite some other people to do blogging here.

Other option is , people can blog on there blogs and let the admins know about it. Then admins can post links to those blogs. The better thing with this approach is we can help to increase google ranking of particular blog.

AsankE said...

A bit of clarification. Can you explain your second scenario. :)

Hi,
AFAIU, this are my two points.

1. Invite few people to write blog posts on a blog.

2. Post links to other blog posts, in our blog.
